I don’t think that anyone has noticed (lots of other things in the world to think about!) — but I’ve been tinkering around with Laurna’s face and body appearance over the past few months.
Truthfully, I’ve been wanting to update her skins for a couple years now, but I always felt like it would have been inconsiderate to Brett to just change the way she looks overnight. Plus, I *know* he would have raised a fuss, which is something I always wanted to avoid.
Heh. I’m a too-nice doofus sometimes, I know.
Long story short, I began the skin updating and shape modification process after New Year’s Day and I just finished up this week. It was very hard work to make big changes and then get her looking similar her original self again!
I think I’ve gotten very close, though, and I am finally happy with the results.
She is still Lara X (occasionally Version 5.3) — but I am now using the Lelutka Camila 4.0 head instead of the Avalon. She now wears a Picasso Slim 2K body skin by Velour, and I this week I bought Amara Beauty’s new 2K Theresa face skin, put it on and instantly saw great potential in it. Pleasing bone structuring, subtle shading and higher resolution makes me a happy avatar artist.
So if Laurna’s been looking a little different to you lately, now you know why.
But she’s all done changing now; the physical metamorphosis is complete.
(I’m so glad I got her finalized before The Skin Fair opened yesterday!)

Above is the older, low resolution skin that I used on Laurna for years. I loved it, but it was time for a change.

These three images show a high resolution skin that I used while I continuously searched for the “perfect” one. It was a lovely skin, but I felt it made Laurna look too young — plus the “built in” shading bothered me sometimes.

But, oh… look at her! This is the one I finally chose and I really do love it. A more mature look, subtle shading, and higher resolution. Laurna is back, baby!
